Nonprofit Research Organization
The Institute for American Manufacturing & Technology (IAMT) is organizing as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit under the Internal Revenue Code. Our mission is to produce nonpartisan research, policy analysis, and strategic frameworks that strengthen the industrial foundations of the United States.
Mission
IAMT conducts applied research across three domains critical to national competitiveness: advanced manufacturing, energy infrastructure, and artificial intelligence governance. Our work addresses the structural conditions that determine whether the United States can build, power, and govern its own technological and industrial future.
What the 501(c)(3) Does
As a 501(c)(3) organization, IAMT’s activities are exclusively educational and charitable. We do not lobby. We do not endorse candidates. We produce research that informs public understanding and contributes to evidence-based policymaking. All research is nonpartisan and made available to policymakers, researchers, and the public.
Our three research institutes operate under this tax-exempt mission:
- Aegis Institute — Artificial intelligence, compute infrastructure, semiconductor policy, and technology governance
- Atlas Institute — Energy systems, grid reliability, nuclear and advanced generation, and infrastructure resilience
- Forge Institute — Manufacturing capacity, supply chains, workforce development, and defense industrial base
Research Output
The 501(c)(3) produces white papers, policy briefs, strategic assessments, and data-driven analysis. This research forms the evidentiary foundation that policymakers, industry leaders, and advocacy organizations rely on to make informed decisions about American industrial policy.
Relationship to Advocacy
IAMT’s research arm operates independently from any policy advocacy activity. The data, analysis, and frameworks produced by the 501(c)(3) may inform the work of IAMT’s planned 501(c)(4) advocacy affiliate, but the two entities maintain separate governance, funding, and accounting as required by the Internal Revenue Code.
Tax-Deductible Contributions
Once 501(c)(3) status is granted, contributions to IAMT’s research mission will be tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law. To discuss supporting our work, contact us at contact@iamtpolicy.org.
