Call for Writers

Write for the Rebuild

America is building again. Reactors are getting licensed. Fabs are rising out of Arizona dirt. Shipyards are hiring welders faster than they can train them. The Institute for American Manufacturing & Technology publishes writers who understand what building actually takes.

We want your byline on it.

What we publish

Commentary: argument-driven pieces of 800 to 1,500 words that take a clear position on a live question in American industrial policy. Strong Commentary starts from something concrete, a permit, a price, a production line, and builds to a conclusion the reader earns alongside you.

What we cover

Three pillars. One system.

Aegis
AI, compute, semiconductors, data, governance

Atlas
Energy, the grid, nuclear, permitting

Forge
Manufacturing, supply chain, workforce, trade

Defense runs through all three.

Who should write for us

Engineers, machinists, grid planners, program managers, veterans, plant supervisors, procurement officers, researchers. If you have stood on a factory floor, sat through a permitting hearing, or shipped hardware that had to work, you have material we want.

Our standard

Every number traces to a primary source. Prose stays declarative. Conclusions get earned through the argument. We edit hard and we edit fast.

Pitch us

The editorial team reads every pitch and responds to the ones we want to pursue.
