American industrial strength depends on three systems that policy treats as separate: compute, energy, and manufacturing. The Institute for American Manufacturing & Technology studies them as one.
The data centers that will train the next generation of artificial intelligence require gigawatts of firm power. That power requires reactors, turbines, and transmission equipment that American industry must be able to build. The factories that build them require chips, skilled labor, and supply chains under American control. Each layer depends on the others, and the United States has no research institution organized around that dependency. The Institute exists to fill that gap.
Our work proceeds through three institutes. The Aegis Institute covers artificial intelligence, compute, semiconductors, and data governance. The Atlas Institute covers energy, the grid, nuclear power, and permitting reform. The Forge Institute covers manufacturing, supply chains, workforce, and trade. Defense runs through all three. Alongside published research, the Institute convenes a professional network of practitioners: the engineers, operators, and builders whose knowledge rarely reaches the policy debate.
Philanthropic support funds the research itself: white papers, policy briefs, state-level indexes, and the analytical infrastructure behind them. It also funds dissemination, so that the work reaches the officials, committee staff, and industry leaders who act on it. Every dollar given to the Institute advances independent research in the national interest.

Every gift is acknowledged in writing, and gifts of $250 or more receive an acknowledgment that meets IRS substantiation requirements. A copy of the IRS determination letter is available on request.
Independence
The Institute accepts no funding contingent on research findings or conclusions. It does not participate in campaign activity on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office. Editorial control over all Institute publications rests solely with the Institute.
