These terms describe permitted use of the public website of The Institute for American Manufacturing & Technology. They do not replace a signed agreement, a contributor agreement, or separate Network membership terms.
Research and educational purpose
Our publications and resources provide general research, commentary, and educational information. They are not individualized legal, tax, financial, investment, engineering, safety, or other professional advice. Evaluate sources, dates, assumptions, and limitations before relying on material for a particular decision. Publication does not guarantee any policy, commercial, or technical outcome.
Copyright and reuse
Unless an item states otherwise, copyright belongs to The Institute, its authors, or the relevant rights holders. You may link to our public pages. Quotation and other uses permitted by applicable law remain permitted; cite the author, title, and source accurately and do not imply endorsement. For republication, translation, adaptation, distribution of complete works, or use of our name or marks in promotion, contact us for permission unless an applicable license already authorizes the use.
Third-party photographs, figures, datasets, and other materials may carry separate rights or license conditions. A website-wide permission does not override those conditions. Image credits identify relevant sources and licenses. Do not remove attribution or rights notices.
Acceptable use
Do not use this site to distribute unlawful material, impersonate another person, infringe rights, submit malicious code or spam, interfere with access, or attempt unauthorized access to systems or private information. Do not misrepresent our publications, affiliations, or endorsement. Authorized research, lawful quotation, and legitimate criticism are not prohibited by these terms.
Submissions and communications
Sending a pitch or inquiry does not create an employment, agency, advisory, or confidential relationship and does not guarantee a response, payment, or publication. Do not submit material you lack permission to share. Publication rights and any compensation must be settled separately. The Institute’s editorial and submission policy explains our review principles.
Accuracy, availability, and external services
We aim to present reliable information, but material may contain errors, reflect an earlier date, or change as evidence develops. We may correct, update, remove, or restrict material and may experience interruptions. Links to outside websites are provided for reference; we do not control their content, availability, security, or policies. A reference to an organization or product does not by itself constitute endorsement.
Disclaimers and limits
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its materials are provided as available, without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, or freedom from harmful components. To that same extent, The Institute is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of, or inability to use, this website.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived. These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, a class-action waiver, or a contractual indemnity on visitors.
Applicable law and changes
To the extent a choice of law is enforceable, Idaho law governs these terms, subject to applicable federal law and mandatory protections that otherwise apply. Separate written agreements control their own subject matter. An unenforceable provision does not invalidate the remaining provisions. Updated terms apply prospectively from their stated effective date.
