Support for The Institute for American Manufacturing & Technology advances its charitable research and educational mission. The Institute is a Section 501(c)(3) organization, EIN 42-2716768.
Acceptance and restrictions
The Institute may decline support that conflicts with its mission, independence, legal obligations, or ability to administer the gift. Discuss proposed restrictions before transferring funds. A donor’s requested designation does not by itself establish an accepted restriction; restricted gifts and sponsorship arrangements should be documented in writing.
Research independence
Support does not purchase favorable coverage, predetermined findings, editorial control, a speaking role, or influence over public officials. The Institute controls its research and editorial decisions. Any acknowledgment or event arrangement must be consistent with that independence and the public purpose of the work.
Corporate sponsorship
Sponsorship scope, recognition, payment arrangements, and any benefits must be confirmed in a separate written agreement. No benefit, exclusivity, or use of The Institute’s marks is promised merely by an inquiry or payment. Recognition does not imply endorsement of a sponsor’s products, services, or positions.
Acknowledgments and tax treatment
The Institute provides gift acknowledgments and disclosures as applicable. The tax treatment of a payment depends on the transaction and the supporter’s circumstances. Goods or services received in exchange may affect deductibility. The Institute does not assign a deductible value to donated professional time or services and does not provide individual tax advice. Consult your tax advisor about a proposed gift or sponsorship.
Donor information and recognition
Contact and transaction information may be used to administer support, maintain financial records, issue acknowledgments, communicate about the gift, and meet legal obligations. The Privacy Policy describes personal-information handling. Discuss anonymity or public recognition preferences before making a gift. Confidentiality cannot override legally required reporting or disclosure.
Payment questions and errors
Contact The Institute before sending unusual, restricted, or noncash gifts. Verify payment instructions through a known contact channel. Do not email payment-card numbers or sensitive banking credentials. If a payment was mistaken, unauthorized, or processed incorrectly, contact us promptly with its date and reference. Requests will be reviewed in light of the facts, applicable law, and any written agreement; this policy does not promise an automatic refund or establish a recurring-payment arrangement.
