Overview

Patrick J. Wolf serves as President & Executive Director of the Institute for American Manufacturing & Technology, leading the Institute’s research and policy work on the industrial, energy, and technological foundations of American economic strength. He oversees the Institute’s three research areas (technology research (Aegis), energy research (Atlas), and manufacturing research (Forge)) and represents the Institute in public commentary and policy engagement.

Biography

Patrick J. Wolf is President & Executive Director of the Institute for American Manufacturing & Technology, a policy and research organization dedicated to strengthening the industrial foundations of the United States. The Institute conducts research across three connected research areas: technology research (Aegis), focused on artificial intelligence governance and compute infrastructure; energy research (Atlas), focused on energy systems and power infrastructure; and manufacturing research (Forge), focused on manufacturing competitiveness and supply chains.

Wolf’s research examines how policy frameworks, institutional decisions, and technological change interact to shape national capacity and long-term competitiveness. His work spans manufacturing policy, energy security, AI governance, and the structural conditions that determine American industrial strength.

Beyond the Institute, Wolf is the founder of Idaho Leaders, a platform dedicated to business, policy, and civic leadership in the state of Idaho.

Areas of Focus

  • Artificial Intelligence Governance: Compute infrastructure, AI accountability, and the institutional frameworks for responsible state and federal use of AI systems (Technology).
  • Energy Security: Energy demand projections for data centers and reshored manufacturing, oil market dynamics, and the cost of energy vulnerability (Energy).
  • Manufacturing Policy: Industrial base capacity, defense production, and the conditions for American industrial renewal (Manufacturing).

Background

Wolf’s professional background includes work in enterprise strategy, data and analytics, and emerging technologies. His training in industrial engineering combined with graduate work in business and strategic communications informs an analytical approach that bridges economic, technological, and institutional perspectives. Based in Idaho, Wolf is active in Republican politics and civic leadership, serving in strategy and organizational roles within the Idaho GOP.
