Our purpose
The people doing the work belong in the decisions.
America’s independence depends on the capacity to produce what it needs and develop what comes next. Sustaining that capacity requires the knowledge of the people running factories, building energy systems, and turning new technologies into working capabilities.
The Institute brings that experience into a shared record of evidence that others can examine and use. Our work connects manufacturing, energy, and technology because a constraint in one can determine what is possible in another.

The Institute retains independent control of its research and editorial decisions. Financial support does not purchase favorable coverage or predetermined findings. The Institute is nonpartisan and does not support or oppose candidates for public office.
